I thought I would write a post to introduce my van Patrice, I have had him since November and it was really important to me to provide a reliable and safe mode of transport.
Patrice is a 2020 Peugeot Partner van and he is fitted with DT boxes - these are made in the UK and are independently crash tested and can withstand extreme forces. Each box is fitted with a washable matting, topped with a noodle mat - making a comfortable, snuggly experience for your dogs. They are secured with 2 catches at the front door and also features solid doors to the back also with 2 catches as escape doors should the back doors of the van fail to open.
I am happy and confident that these provide a great safe addition to the van, and are proving easy to use and the dogs have got used to them perfectly. On taking on a new dog, they will always be introduced to the crate and shown in and never forced (albeit treats maybe involved) I believe once they are aware that a fun walk follows the journey in the van they link this with a positive experience and then will happily jump on in! As an alternative to the crates there is an area in the back of the van or the dog can be secured in the front with an appropriate seat belt strap.
The van is a work in progress for kitting out but I’m getting there and now have hooks for my leads, there’s also room for my towels which are much needed in this muddy weather along with my portable battery shower which is amazing for cleaning those dirty paws!
I’ve also added some sign writing for a bit of advertising and so if you see me out and about you can give me a wave!
